Build-a-Box v3 (BABv3) Buy pages are opt-in only. If you haven’t opted in and are using our previous buy page experience, refer to our customer experience guide here.
Before you start
There are a few things to know before setting up or migrating to the new Buy pages:
Customer Portal v3 is required. The new Buy pages only work with Customer Portal v3 (CPv3). If your store is still on Customer Portal v2, you'll need to migrate to v3 first.
Buy page migration is manual and opt-in. Your store won't automatically switch to the new customer-facing experience. Contact your Merchant Success Manager (MSM) to request the migration, or success@skio.com.
Dashboard migration is automatic. The new Skio Dashboard interface for managing boxes rolls out automatically. Your existing boxes carry over with all their settings intact.
What are Build-a-Box Buy pages?
Build-a-Box Buy pages are the customer-facing storefront experience where shoppers build their own subscription box. Customers choose products, see real-time pricing and discount milestones, and check out in a guided flow, all without leaving your store.
How do Buy pages work?
When a customer lands on a Build-a-Box Buy page, they're guided through a step-by-step experience:
They browse available products and add items to their box.
As they add items, a progress tracker updates in real time showing how close they are to the next discount tier.
Once the box meets the minimum requirements, they can proceed to checkout.
If you've configured one-time upsell items, those are offered as optional add-ons before checkout.
The layout, copy, and display settings are all controlled from the Skio Dashboard when you create or edit a box. Any changes you make in the dashboard are reflected on the Buy page automatically.
Buy page types
The Buy page experience adjusts based on the box type you've configured:
Dynamic (Quantity Based)
Customers add items freely. Discounts unlock as they hit quantity thresholds (e.g., add 4 items for 5% off, 10 items for 15% off). The progress tracker shows how many more items are needed for the next tier.

Dynamic (Price Based)
Similar to quantity-based, but discounts are tied to total spend instead of item count (e.g., spend $50 for 5% off, $60 for 10% off). The tracker displays spend progress toward each tier.

An example of a Price-based Dynamic Box.
Static
Customers choose from preset box sizes, each with a fixed number of items and a set price (e.g., 4 items for $40, 6 items for $60). The experience focuses on filling the selected box size rather than reaching discount milestones.

An example of a Static box.
Sectioned
Customers build across multiple sections, each with its own quantity rules and discounts (e.g., pick 4 bar soaps, then pick 1 shampoo). Each section has its own tab on the Buy page.

How do I customize my Buy page?
You control the Buy page experience from the box setup flow in the Skio Dashboard. During Step 2 (Box setup), scroll to the Customize your Buyer Page Content section. From there you can:
Toggle Use default Skio copy on to use Skio's default text, or turn it off to customize your header, subheader, customer portal box title, upsell headers, and discount title.
Adjust display settings including:
Display variants as separate cardsDefault to one time purchaseRedirect to cartShow parent box viewHide item child price (customer portal)

A live Preview panel on the right side of the page updates as you make changes, so you can see exactly what the customer will see before publishing.
