Credits: Customer experience overview

The Credits customer experience may appear slightly different depending on which version of the Customer Portal you are using. The sections below outline how credits are displayed and redeemed from the customer’s perspective in each portal version.

You can customize how Loyalty appears in the Customer Portal by going to Skio dashboard > Storefront > Customer Portal > Loyalty settings tab.

Viewing credit balance

Customers can view their credit balance in multiple areas of the Customer Portal.

The Credits widget appears on the main Customer Portal page and displays the customer’s current balance.

Depending on your Loyalty configuration, the Credits widget can also appear on a dedicated Membership page within the Customer Portal.

Redeeming credits on a subscription

Customers can apply credits to their next subscription order directly from the Customer Portal. Customers can use their full balance or enter a custom amount, with the updated total reflected instantly.

Redeeming credits for a specific product

If specific products are configured to be redeemable with credits, customers can redeem them directly within the Customer Portal as well as on the Rewards page.

Viewing credit activity

To access the Rewards page in the Customer Portal, click View all rewards if you’re using Customer Portal v3, or Membership if you’re using Customer Portal v2.

Credit activity, including applied and expired credits, is displayed in the Reward History section of the Rewards page.

Redeeming credits at checkout (Shopify Plus only)

Merchants must have Multipass enabled in their Shopify store for the Checkout Block to function properly. Without Multipass enabled, customers who log in through Skio (rather than directly through Shopify) will be prompted to log in again when they reach the checkout page.

Customers can redeem credits in their Customer Portal, and also during Checkout (Shopify Plus stores only, see our guide on setting up the credit redemption at checkout here).
