Note
Read our full guide on how to set up Quick Actions here.
What are Quick Actions?
Quick Actions give your subscribers a third way to manage their subscriptions alongside the customer portal and SkioSMS via links that can be added to emails.
Each Quick Action URL leads to a confirmation page where the subscriber can approve a specific action, like skipping an order or adding a product. After confirming, they're redirected to their customer portal to view the update and continue managing their subscription.
What Quick Actions are available?
Action name | Action function | Considerations |
|---|---|---|
Add Product Variant / Add multiple product variants | Adding an additional product to their subscription (recurring) |
Apply Discount | Applying a Shopify discount code to their subscription |
Delay | Delay the subscription's next charge date by X days, weeks, months |
Skip | Skip the subscription's next charge date by X days, weeks, months |

Add 1-time Upsell | Add a product to the subscription's next (or upcoming) order at the 1-time add-on price (configured in Skio) |
Reset Payment Method / Change Subscription Credit Card | Send an email from Shopify to the subscriber that includes a link to update their payment method on file |

Set backup payment method | Points a customer's account to an existing vaulted payment method, used automatically as a fallback when their primary payment method fails at billing. | This is set at the customer level, not the subscription level, so it applies across all of that customer's subscriptions. Setting a new backup replaces any existing one, with no history kept. |
Award credits | Awards loyalty credits to a customer's account. |
Add free gift | Adds any product to the subscription as a free one-time item at $0. |
Set backup product | Lets a customer choose a backup for the selected product, which is substituted at billing if the original product becomes unavailable. |
Redeem credits | Lets customers choose how many credits to apply as a discount on their next order. |
