For One-time to Subscription Quick Action links, follow our guide here.
What are Quick Actions and how do they work?
Quick Actions are links you can embed in emails, SMS messages, or other channels that let your subscribers perform specific subscription actions with minimal clicks, without needing to log into the Customer Portal. For example, you can create a link that lets a customer add an upsell product, swap a variant, or convert a one-time purchase into a subscription.
Each Quick Action generates a unique URL. When a subscriber clicks the link, they're taken to a confirmation page for the action you've configured. This removes friction from the subscriber experience and can help drive revenue through targeted campaigns.
Before you start
You'll need access to the Skio Dashboard with permissions to manage Quick Actions.
Decide what action you want the link to perform (e.g., add an upsell, change a billing cycle, convert a one-time order).
If you plan to include a discount code, make sure it's already created in Shopify. Order discount codes and product discount codes are supported, but Buy X Get Y is not.
Know where you plan to distribute the link (Klaviyo, Sendlane, Skio SMS and emails, or another platform) since this affects how you configure the URL.
Step 1: Navigate to Quick Actions
In the left-hand menu of your Skio Dashboard, go to Grow > Quick Actions.
Click + Create new action in the top-right corner.

Click Create new action to begin the setup process.
Step 2: Select the Quick Action type
In the modal that appears, choose one of the following:
Modify an existing subscription: Use this when you want the link to change something on an active, paused, or cancelled subscription, such as swapping a product, adding an upsell, or updating the billing cycle.
Convert a one-time order to subscription: Use this to encourage repeat one-time buyers to subscribe with a simple post-purchase link.
Click Confirm.

Select what kind of Quick Action link you want to create.
Step 3: Name your Quick Action
Enter a Title for your Quick Action (e.g., "Black Friday Upgrade Discount"). This is for your internal reference in the Skio Dashboard.
Optionally, add a Description to help your team understand what this action is for (e.g., "25% off for upgrade to 12-pack").
Step 4: Configure the action
Under First action, click the Action dropdown and select the action you want this link to perform (e.g.,
Add one-time upsell).Fill in the required fields based on the action you selected. For example, if you chose
Add one-time upsell:Click Select product to choose the product you want to upsell.
Optionally, enter a Discount code (e.g.,
10OFF).
To stack multiple actions into a single link, click + Add action and repeat the configuration for each additional action.
Step 5: Configure URL settings
Scroll down to the URL settings and actions section. This is where you'll generate and customize the link you'll share with subscribers.
Choose a link type
Select the Link type that matches the platform where you'll use this Quick Action:
Klaviyo: Generates a link formatted for Klaviyo campaigns or flows. If you select this, you'll also choose between
CampaignandFlow, and select the Type of Sub ID to target (Next Active Billing Subscription,Last Paused Subscription, orLast Cancelled Subscription).Sendlane: Generates a link formatted for use in Sendlane.
Skio link: Generates a link for use in Skio SMS and email notifications.
Universal link: Generates a link you can use on any platform by manually substituting the subscription ID. If you select this, you can enter the specific Subscription ID you want the action to apply to.
Set optional link preferences
The following optional fields are available for all link types:
Link expiration date: Set a date after which the link will no longer work. Useful for time-limited promotions.
Custom title for customer page (recommended): The heading your customer sees on the Quick Action confirmation page (e.g., "Delay and Swap").
Custom description for customer page: A short message displayed to the customer explaining the action (e.g., "Click confirm to delay your next order and swap to a different size").
Show impacted subscription: Toggle this on to display the affected subscription details on the preview and confirmation page so the customer knows exactly which subscription the action applies to.
Step 6: Preview and save
Use the Preview customer view field to see what the Quick Action page will look like for your customer. Click Preview to open it in a new tab. The preview page will display the action you selected along with any options you configured during setup.
When everything looks correct, click Save action and copy URL.
The generated Action URL will be copied to your clipboard. Paste your Quick Action link into the URL field of the button, banner, or text link where you want it to appear.

Advanced options
Stacking multiple actions
You can add more than one action to a single Quick Action link by clicking + Add action during setup. This lets you combine actions, such as swapping a product and applying a discount, into one seamless click for the customer.
Targeting specific subscription states (Klaviyo)
When using the Klaviyo link type, the Type of Sub ID setting lets you target subscribers based on their subscription status:
Next Active Billing Subscription: Targets the subscriber's next upcoming active order.
Last Paused Subscription: Targets the subscriber's most recently paused subscription.
Last Cancelled Subscription: Targets the subscriber's most recently cancelled subscription.
This is especially useful for win-back campaigns or reactivation flows.
