What is a subscription audit log?

A subscription audit log (also called subscription history) is a detailed record of all changes made to a customer's subscription over time. It tracks every modification including status changes, plan updates, Payment Method adjustments, and administrative actions—along with who made the change and when it occurred.

This log gives you complete visibility into a subscription's history, helping you troubleshoot issues, verify actions, and understand the full customer journey.

Why use the subscription audit log?

The audit log helps you:

  • Investigate subscription issues by reviewing the exact sequence of events that led to the current state

  • Verify customer support actions to confirm what changes were made during support interactions

  • Track operational changes to see when automated processes or bulk updates affected subscriptions

  • Understand churn patterns by analyzing the path customers took before canceling

  • Maintain accountability with a clear record of who made changes and when

What information does the audit log show?

Each entry in the subscription audit log includes:

  • Timestamp of when the change occurred

  • Event type (e.g., subscription created, plan changed, payment method updated, status changed)

  • User or system that initiated the change

How to access a subscription audit log

Step 1: Navigate to the subscription

  1. In the lefthand menu of your Skio Dashboard, go to Subscription Management.

  2. Search for and select the subscription you want to review

Step 2: View the audit log

  1. On the subscription details page, click on View audit log

  2. Review the chronological list of all changes made to this subscription

View the subscription audit log by clicking on View subscription history from the subscription card.
