Outline:
Overview:
The Back in Stock Notifications feature allows you to automatically send alerts to your subscribers when products are back in stock. This feature works with the "Only order items in stock" inventory policy, enabling you to recover missed subscription orders due to stock shortages. Subscribers can quickly place a one-time order for the restocked item with just two clicks, enhancing their shopping experience and helping you recover lost revenue.
Why You’ll Love It:
- Recover MRR: Allow customers to purchase products as soon as they are back in stock, helping you recover missed revenue.
- Customer Satisfaction: Keep customers happy by ensuring they don’t have to wait until their next subscription order to get the products they love.
- Efficient Inventory Management: Set a maximum number of days the quick action link is valid to avoid extra orders right before the next subscription delivery date.
Configuration:
To configure the Back in Stock Notifications feature, follow these steps:
-
Enable Back in Stock Notifications: Navigate in the Skio admin dashboard to
Account > Settings > Billing & Orders
and toggle the switch to enable the back in stock notifications. -
Set Maximum Valid Days:
- Max valid days for back in stock notification post billing: Enter the number of days to check if the product is back in stock after a subscription is renewed. For example, if you set 3 days and a subscription is renewed on Monday, the system will check for the next 3 days if the product came back in stock. If it comes back in stock on Wednesday, an event will be sent to Klaviyo.
- Max valid days for quick action link post billing: Enter the number of days the quick action link will remain valid after billing to prevent customers from clicking a link in the email late and getting a product outside of their normal subscription cycle.

-
Allow Action Without Logging In: Toggle this switch if you want to allow the action without requiring the customer to log in.
-
Apply Free Shipping: Check this box if you want to apply free shipping for the quick action.

Integrations > Klaviyo
. -
Add Event: Click on
Add event
. -
Select Item Back in Stock: Enable the
Item back in stock
event, which will notify subscribers when an out-of-stock item missed in the previous billing is back in stock.
Setting Up a Klaviyo Flow:
Merchants will also need to set up a Klaviyo flow to receive the event. Follow these steps in Klaviyo:
-
Create a New Flow: Navigate to
Flows
and create a new flow. -
Add a Trigger: Set the trigger for the flow to be the
Item back in stock
event. - Customize the Flow: Add the necessary actions, such as sending an email notification to subscribers.
How It Works:
- When an item is out of stock and subsequently restocked, subscribers who missed the item in their subscription order will receive a notification.
- This notification can be combined with a quick action to trigger a one-time order for the restocked item.
- The validity of both the notification and the quick action link can be customized to fit your inventory and subscription management needs.
By utilizing this feature, you can improve customer satisfaction, efficiently manage inventory, and recover potential missed revenue.
