Note
The Products Dashboard helps you track the performance of your subscription products: what's being purchased, how often, and by whom. Use it to understand which products drive subscription revenue, how customer behavior changes over time, and which products contribute to growth or churn.
Before you start
Check your dashboard version: This guide covers the latest version (V3) of the Products Dashboard. If you're using an older version, some features and metrics may appear differently.
Permissions required: You need admin access or access to analytics to view the Products Dashboard. Learn more about permissions.
Data refresh frequency: The dashboards update every four hours. Data for the current day may lag slightly compared to real-time Shopify reporting.
What you should know: The V3 dashboard focuses on product quantity rather than just counting subscription lines. This means a subscription with five units of a product is tracked differently than one with a single unit, giving you a more accurate picture of demand, inventory movement, and revenue potential. The dashboard is powered by a state change table that creates a complete historical timeline of every change made to products within subscriptions, ensuring your historical data remains accurate and reliable.
Exporting data: You can export the aggregated data as it appears in the dashboard's tables and charts to a CSV file. Raw, row-level data Exports are planned for a future update.
What is the Products Dashboard?
The Products Dashboard provides insights into product-level performance across your subscription business. It answers critical questions like:
What is the total quantity of each product currently in active subscriptions?
Which products drive the most subscription revenue?
How many units of each product have been added to or removed from existing subscriptions?
What's the average order value for orders containing specific products?
What are the most common shipping frequencies for active subscriptions?
What's the performance of one-time add-on products?
