Before you start
Depending on the size of your store, you may need to resync product pricing on subscriptions in bulk. This can apply to all customers or to a specific segment. For changes that affect more than a small group of customers, using a bulk operation is the most efficient approach.
Ensure you have access to Bulk Operations in your User Permissions.
Run bulk updates during off-peak hours to minimize customer impact.
Resync product is gated to cancelled subscriptions only by default. Unchecking this gate will overwrite pricing on active, paused, and failed subscriptions, so test on a small segment before running it broadly.
Use cases
Resyncing products in bulk is helpful when a subscription's stored price has drifted from the current Shopify product price. Common scenarios include:
Price drift after a Shopify update: A product's price changed in Shopify, but existing subscriptions are still billing at the old price.
Cleaning up cancelled subscriptions: Refresh pricing on cancelled subscriptions before they're reactivated or used in a Winback flow, so customers see accurate current pricing.
Post-migration corrections: Subscriptions imported from another platform may have stale or incorrect pricing that needs to be aligned with Shopify.
Step 1: Set the conditions
In your Skio Dashboard, go to Tools > Bulk Operations.
Choose the subscription type. Select either Regular recurring subscription or Prepaid subscription.
Define the conditions for the subscriptions you want to target. You can add multiple conditions using AND, OR, or AND/OR logic.
For example, to resync pricing on all cancelled subscriptions containing a specific product, set conditions of Subscription status Equal to Cancelled AND Contains products Equal to the product.
See Bulk operations guide for a full list of conditions.
This step ensures the bulk operations tool only runs on relevant subscription lines. If you skip it, the operation may show multiple Failures because the tool couldn't find the selected variant during the next step (setting the Action).
Step 2: Select the Resync product Action
In the Actions section of the Bulk Operations tool, click the Add an action button.
From the dropdown, choose Resync product.
Review the Gate to cancelled subscriptions only checkbox. This is checked by default and limits the action to cancelled subscriptions.
Unchecking Gate to cancelled subscriptions only will overwrite pricing on active, paused, and failed subscriptions, not just cancelled ones. Use the preview step to confirm which subscriptions will be affected before running the operation.
Step 3: Preview and run the bulk operation
Preview bulk operation
Preview the subscriptions that will be affected before running the bulk operation. We recommend downloading the export so you can verify the changes or revert them if needed.
Run bulk operation
When you are ready to start your bulk operation, scroll to the top of the page and click Start operation.
Step 4: Check the bulk operation results
Use the exported CSV (comma-separated values) file to check if the bulk operation ran successfully.
Search for a subscription ID from the CSV in the Skio Dashboard under Subscribers > Subscriptions to confirm that the product price was updated as expected.
FAQ
Why is Resync product gated to cancelled subscriptions only by default?
The gate is a safeguard to prevent accidentally overwriting pricing on active, paused, or failed subscriptions. Uncheck it only when you intend to update pricing on subscriptions in those statuses.
Does resyncing a product recalculate my subscription discounts?
Partially. The selling plan's own discount (a percentage or fixed-amount discount) is already factored into the resynced price, and any volume discount is reapplied as a separate step afterward, so neither is lost. However, any other discount that lives outside of those two, such as a one-off manual discount, is not reapplied automatically and will be removed once the resync runs. Confirm whether any affected subscriptions have that kind of discount before resyncing broadly.
Can I undo a resync product bulk operation?
No. There is currently no undo or rewind option. Download the preview CSV before running the operation so you have a record of pricing before the change, and contact help@skio.com if you need help reverting a change.
