Overview 

• Skio offers free SMS notifications which can be configured directly from the dashboard 
• All notifications have editable copy with a wide array of variables for dynamic customization
• SMS notifications can be used with or without the 2-Way subscription management tool

Setup 

By default, all SMS notifications will be off. Once you enable SkioSMS, you can begin enabling notifications to be sent out to your customers. 

• To enable a notification, you can click the toggle on the top right of the notification card.

Notifications can be enabled/disabled whenever necessary. However, there are a couple of caveats worth noting: 

• If you have enabled the 2-Way subscription management tool, you will not be able to disable the billing reminder notification. If you want to disable notifications entirely, you'll need to first disable the management tool, then you'll be able to disable the notifications as well. 
• If you have SMS quiet hours enabled, some notifications which were previously queued up to be sent in the specified time window may still be sent after disabling a notification. 

Notification customization

Trigger settings 

Most notifications are triggered by automated actions (ex. "Order confirmation") or by customer action (ex. action confirmation notifications). 

The "Billing reminder text" notification is a bit different, as this is sent out before the customer's subscription will renew. You can configure the number of days preceding a subscription's renewal date in the Settings tab, under the setting "Billing reminder notification days ahead". The default number of days is 3.

Copy

To make changes to notification copy, you can access the edit page by clicking on the notification card. Here, you will find the following: 

• A list of available variables that can be used to dynamically populate the notification with information specific to the customer or the notification configuration 
• A preview section to show how this notification would display to a customer. Dynamic variables will be populated with test data, which may not reflect your own store.
