Selling Plans

Chris Blanshard Chris Blanshard

Overview

  • Create different types of selling plans for your customers (pre-paid, subscribe & save, dynamic box subscribe & save)
  • Example: Create a subscribe & save plan where a customer receives a product every month at 15% off the regular one-time purchase price

What is it?

Selling Plans are the subscription types presented to customers for purchase. You can create selling plans for both products and variants. Selling Plans are the subscription options that will be displayed to the customer on the product page, quiz flows, etc.

There are currently 3 types of selling plans available at this time:

Subscribe & Save - Offer a percentage or fixed discount on select products

Prepaid Subscriptions - Give subscribers the option to pay for all of their shipments upfront. More information on pre-paid subscriptions can be found here

Dynamic Subscribe & Save - Create a subscribe & save plan for a dynamic build-a-box. More info on Dynamic build-a-box setup here

Why should I use it?

  • Subscription-based pricing attracts more customers
  • Subscriptions offer opportunities for cross-sells and up-sells
  • Prepaid subscriptions can lock in confirmed revenue upfront
  • Longer customer relationships, improving Customer Lifetime Value (CLV)

How do I set it up?

Subscribe & Save

Step 1: Select “Create New Plan” > “Create Subscribe & Save”

Step 2: Select Applicable Products

Step 3: Select “Add Subscription Plan” and complete the relevant fields:

Selling Plan Name - The name of the plan. Note that this is customer-facing

Billing and Delivery Interval - How often the customer is billed and orders are delivered

Pricing Policy - Set the fixed or percentage-based discount

Order Day - This will allow you to tie subscriptions to the product(s) on a specific day of the week, or month. When using monthly order delays, the order day will be tied to the last day of the month if the month has fewer days than the selected order day. More information on anchor and cut-off dates can be found here

Advanced - Recurring Pricing Policy - Displayed only at checkout and does not impact pricing
Step 4: Be sure to name your selling plan before you save it.

Step 3: Select “Add Subscription Plan” and complete the relevant fields:

Prepaid Billing and Delivery Interval - How often the customer is billed and orders are delivered. This differs from the Subscribe and Save setup as this is where we will set the prepaid amount required.

Order Day - This will allow you to tie subscriptions to the product(s) on a specific day of the week, or month. When using monthly order delays, the order day will be tied to the last day of the month if the month has fewer days than the selected order day. FAQs

What happens to existing subscribers when I modify the selling plans?

All existing subscriptions will continue to operate under the original pricing and intervals when they started and will stay the same. Should you require an update for all existing subscriptions, we encourage you to leverage our bulk operations tool or you can send us an email at help@skio.com and a member of our Technical Support team will be happy to run the update for you.

Can I have multiple selling plans for the same product?

You can have a product in multiple selling plans, either a combination of prepaid or subscribe & save, or a combination of different intervals.
