Overview
Skio is making improvements to the subscription selling plans (see image below.)
As part of this improvement, we will be making backend changes to the selling plans. In most cases, this will not affect your subscription program. However, in very rare cases, changes will need to be made to the code used in your Shopify storefront that powers product pages or PDPs (.liquid theme code) to accommodate this migration.
FAQ
What is changing about subscription selling plans?
We've rebuilt selling plans so that the same pricing options and billing intervals can be applied for multiple products without need for duplication. For example, if you wanted to configure 10% off for a subscription which bills every month, you can apply this easily across multiple products with the new selling plan implementation.
This will it make it much easier to edit selling plans moving forward for price updates.
Why is a migration required?
We need to combine and merge selling plans for products which share the same configuration (pricing policy & billing policy).
When will the migration happen?
We will be rolling this change out in phases across our merchants. We aim to complete the rollout by September 1st.
What are the potential breaking changes?
As part of the migration, the SellingPlanGroup ID and SellingPlan ID will be changing. Your theme code will break if you are hard coding this ID. Customers who are using the default Skio Plan Picker will not need to make any changes.
If you're not sure if you will be affected, please reach out to help@skio.com.
What do I need to do as a merchant?
Check if you are using a bespoke plan picker which is hard coding the SellingPlanGroup ID or SellingPlan ID.
