Attentive Integration

Outline:

Overview:

The integration with Attentive allows you to send SMS notifications through Attentive to subscribers for different subscription events that occur in Skio.

Attentive is a powerful marketing and transactional SMS tool.

How do I set this up?

  1. Go to the Skio Integrations page
  2. Click "Enable" on the Attentive integration
  3. Click "Connect"
  4. A new tab will open and require you to log into your Attentive account
  5. After logging in, Attentive will ask for your permission to connect with Skio via the API
  6. Click "Authorize"
  7. After connecting your Skio store to your Attentive account, go back to the integrations page to add in the event triggers you want to send to Attentive
Note: The events can be found below here.
  8. After creating each event, make sure to click "send test" for each event so they will populate in Attentive immediately
  9. After tests are sent, go into Attentive and create a new Journey for each event. The first time you do this you will not be able to filter by app.

Using the Event Metrics

The above events can be found in the Journeys page within Attentive. To create a journey with any of the events above, they first must be created as events within Skio. Once those events have been created, you can create a journey that triggers from these events. Simply click "Create journey", "start from scratch", and choose one of the Skio events to start your journey.

Here's a preview of that process:

FAQs

Does the Attentive integration replace Skio SMS notifications altogether?

Attentive can replace all or some of the Skio SMS notifications. Attentive cannot replace SkioSMS so if you'd like to keep SkioSMS enabled, that tool will still send from your assigned store's phone number.

How do Attentive notifications differ from Skio notifications?

Attentive can send transactional messages, but they require an opt-in from the user. This can result in some subscribers not receiving the text through Attentive even if they have a phone number on their Skio account. Skio SMS notifications does not require this opt-in and can fire to any subscriber who has a phone number on their account.

I don't see the metric in Attentive, what do I do?

Attentive will only pull in the metric once the webhook has fired at least once from Skio so clicking "test event" when setting up the events will push the metric into Attentive for for immediately.
