Cancellation data differs between the Cohort and Overview dashboards because each one measures different things using different timeframes and definitions.
The Overview dashboard shows cancellation events during a selected time window. The Cohort dashboard shows the current churned status of a group over time.
This means you'll often see different numbers between the two, especially when reactivations or multiple subscriptions are involved.

Key differences between cohort and overview cancellation data
Timeframe: event date vs. current status
Overview > Growth > Loss > Cancelled counts the total count of times subscriptions were canceled within the date range.

Cancellations in the Overview dashboard.
Cohort Dashboard > Cancellations shows the total subscriptions cancelled as of today out of the subscriptions created in the date range. You can further filter which data is included by segment, and measure subscriptions OR subscribers in this dashboard.

What’s being counted: subscriptions vs. subscribers
Overview counts each canceled subscription even if the same person cancels more than one.
Cohort can be filtered to show the Subscriber view, which only shows a subscriber as churned if all their subscriptions are canceled.
