# Subscription audit logs

## What is a subscription audit log?

A subscription audit log (also called *subscription history*) is a detailed record of all changes made to a customer's subscription over time. It tracks every modification including status changes, plan updates, Payment Method adjustments, and administrative actions, along with who made the change and when it occurred.

This log gives you complete visibility into a subscription's history, helping you troubleshoot issues, verify actions, and understand the full customer journey.

### Why use the subscription audit log?

The audit log helps you:

- **Investigate subscription issues** by reviewing the exact sequence of events that led to the current state
- **Verify customer support actions** to confirm what changes were made during support interactions
- **Track operational changes** to see when automated processes or bulk updates affected subscriptions
- **Understand churn patterns** by analyzing the path customers took before canceling
- **Maintain accountability** with a clear record of who made changes and when

## What information does the audit log show?

Each entry in the subscription audit log includes:

- **Timestamp** of when the change occurred
- **Event type** (e.g., subscription created, plan changed, payment method updated, status changed)
- **User or system** that initiated the change

## How to access a subscription audit log

### Step 1: Navigate to the subscription

1. In your Skio Dashboard click **Subscribers**, then select **Subscriptions**.
2. Search for and select the subscription you want to review

### Step 2: View the audit log

1. On the subscription details page, click on **View subscription history**
2. Review the chronological list of all changes made to this subscription
