# Is Skio compatible with Shop Pay Installments or BNPL?

No, Skio subscriptions are not compatible with Shop Pay Installments or other buy now, pay later (BNPL) payment options. According to [Shopify's documentation](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/shop-pay-installments/faq#can-customers-purchase-subscription-products-using-shop-pay-installments), customers cannot purchase subscription products using Shop Pay Installments.

## Why aren't subscriptions compatible with BNPL?

Subscription products require recurring payments on a set schedule, while BNPL services like Shop Pay Installments are designed for one-time purchases split into multiple payments. These two payment models are fundamentally incompatible.

## What payment methods work with Skio subscriptions?

Customers can purchase subscriptions using standard payment methods including:

- Credit and debit cards
- Shop Pay (for recurring payments, not installments)
- Other payment gateways supported by Shopify and Skio
