# Integrating Skio Loyalty with Shopify Flow

> [!WARNING]
> This feature is part of [Skio’s Loyalty Program](https://skio.us.document360.io/shared/4f7bc0e3-b403-4dc3-a223-83258f33a22c). To add this feature to your store, reach out to our sales team at [sales@skio.com](mailto:sales@skio.com).

## How it works

[Shopify Flow](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shopify-flow) is an automation tool that lets you connect Shopify with third-party apps to streamline tasks, reduce manual work, and enhance the customer experience. It’s available on the Shopify, Advanced, and Shopify Plus plans.

If a third-party app integrates with Shopify Flow and exposes the necessary triggers or conditions, you can create automated workflows to award credits for almost any customer action. Examples include submitting a photo review, completing engagement activities, or other custom events.

Once the app integration is set up in Shopify Flow, you can use Skio's **Award credits** action to automatically distribute points based on your specific criteria.

## Adding Reward Credits via Shopify Flow

Skio offers a **Reward Credits**action block that can be added to any Shopify Flow automation. This makes it easy to award loyalty credits for actions like:

- Newsletter signups
- SMS signups
- Product reviews
- Custom-defined events

Using the **Reward Credits** action in Shopify Flow lets you connect your loyalty program to key customer moments, such as signups or product reviews. It’s a flexible and effective way to boost retention and increase customer lifetime value.

## How to configure the Reward Credits action in Shopify Flow

When adding **Skio: Reward Credits** to a Flow workflow, you’ll need to set:

- **Reward Name**: This must exactly match a reward you’ve created in Skio (e.g., “**Leave a review**”).
- **Credit Value Override (optional)**: Enter a specific credit amount. If left blank or set to 0, Skio will use the default value from your reward settings.

> This works with both default and custom Flow triggers.

#### Step 2: Create the Workflow in Shopify Flow

1. Go to **Shopify Admin > Apps > Shopify Flow > Create Workflow.**
2. Set the **social engagement trigger from your third-party app** as the trigger (for example, sharing on Instagram or making a post on Facebook)
3. Add an **Action > Skio: Reward Credits.**
4. Set **Reward Name** to the same reward name you created in Skio.
5. (Optional) Enter a **Credit Value Override**.
6. Click **Turn on workflow**.

### FAQ

#### What happens if the reward name in Shopify Flow doesn’t match what’s in Skio?

The workflow will not assign credits if the reward name doesn't match exactly. Double-check spelling, punctuation, and capitalization to ensure they match the reward name configured in Skio under **Loyalty > Credits**.

#### Can I override the credit amount in Flow?

Yes, you can use the **Credits to reward** field to set a specific credit amount for that Flow, regardless of what’s configured in Skio. If left blank or set to 0, Skio will use the default amount tied to that reward name.

#### Can I create rewards for other actions not listed here?

Absolutely. The Skio credit reward action in Flow works with any Flow-compatible trigger. You can create rewards for any customer event or app trigger, just make sure you’ve configured a matching reward in Skio.

#### Will the customer see these rewards in the Customer Portal?

Yes. Rewards applied through **Shopify Flow** will reflect in the customer’s credit balance in the Skio customer portal. You can also configure messaging and layout in the portal to highlight these rewards.

#### Can I test these workflows before launching?

Yes, you can test credit rewards by adding your email to the **early access** list in Skio (under **Loyalty > Credits > Early Access Settings**). This allows you to validate the Flow and confirm credits are applied correctly before rolling it out to all customers.

#### Where can I track credit usage?

You can monitor credit application and redemption under **Analytics** in your **Skio dashboard**. This helps you assess performance and optimize your loyalty strategy.

Your Skio Dashboard is the backend view of Skio where you manage your subscription program. This is the page you see when you log in to the Skio app, and it's where you'll configure products, view customer data, adjust settings, and access analytics to monitor your subscription performance.

The Customer Portal is an interface that allows subscribers to manage their subscriptions, including options to pause, modify, or cancel their subscription plans.
