Cancel compliance helps you meet cancellation laws in specific US states, like California and Colorado. Skio uses each customer's shipping address to decide whether it applies.

You need at least one active Cancel Flow. See How to create and manage Cancel Flows.
Cancel compliance is a global setting, so it applies to all your Cancel Flows.
Consult your legal counsel to decide which states to add and which compliance setting to follow.
What is Cancel compliance?
Cancel compliance gives customers in the states you choose the cancellation experience those states require. Customers everywhere else get your regular Cancel Flow.
With Cancel available at every step, customers in the states you add:
See your full Cancel Flow.
Can cancel at any step by clicking Cancel anyway.
Can share a cancellation reason after they cancel.
How to set up Cancel compliance
Turn on Cancel compliance, add your states, then choose a compliance setting for each one.
Step 1: Open Cancel Flow settings
In the left-hand menu of your Skio Dashboard, go to Retain > Cancel Flow, then click Settings.
Step 2: Add states
Turn on the Cancel compliance toggle.
Click Add a state and select the state from the list.
To take a state off the list, click Remove next to it.
Step 3: Choose a compliance setting
In the Compliance setting column, select the setting to follow for each state.
Setting | What customers see |

| Your full Cancel Flow, including any offers. They can cancel from any step without finishing the flow. |
| No offers. The subscription is cancelled as soon as they open the flow. They're asked why afterward and can skip the question. |
FAQ
How does Skio know which state a customer is in?
Skio uses the shipping address on the customer's subscription.
Which states can I add?
You can choose from US states in the Add a state list, including California, Colorado, Texas, and Mississippi. Add the ones that apply to your business.
Does Cancel compliance change anything for customers in other states?
No. Customers outside the states you add get your regular Cancel Flow.
Does Cancel compliance apply to all my Cancel Flows?
Yes. It's a global setting, so it applies across every Cancel Flow in your store.
