# How to add the Credit redemption block in Shopify Checkout

## What is the Skio Credit Redemption block?

The Skio Credits redemption block is a Shopify Checkout Extension that allows customers to seamlessly redeem their credits during checkout. This feature increases conversion and customer satisfaction by making it easy for subscribers to apply loyalty credits at checkout without friction. This seamless redemption experience encourages repeat purchases, strengthens brand loyalty, and maximizes the impact of your retention efforts without requiring custom development.

This guide outlines the steps to enable this functionality in your Shopify Plus store.

## How the Skio Credit Redemption block works

Once enabled:

- Skio detects the customer’s credit balance after they enter their email at checkout.
- Available credits appear in the **Order summary**, where customers can apply them directly to their order.
- Skio also displays how many credits the customer will earn from their current purchase, helping you drive repeat purchases and build loyalty.

> Merchants must have [Multipass](/help/docs/multipass) enabled in their Shopify store for the Checkout Block to function properly. Without Multipass enabled, customers who log in through Skio (rather than directly through Shopify) will be prompted to log in again when they reach the checkout page.

## How do I add the Credit Redemption block to my Shopify checkout?

### Step 1: Open your Shopify Checkout settings

1. Log in to your Shopify admin.
2. Click **Settings** in the bottom-left corner.
3. Select **Checkout** from the left-hand menu.

### Step 2: Customize your checkout theme

1. In the **Configurations** section, find **Checkout theme**.
2. Click **Customize** next to your active theme.

### Step 3: Add the Credit Redemption app block

1. In the Checkout Customizer, scroll down the left-hand panel to **Order summary**.
2. Click **Add app block**.
3. Select **Credit Redemption** from the list.

### Step 4: Enable Shop Pay support

Check the box labeled **Include app block in Shop Pay** to show credit redemption for Shop Pay customers.

### Step 5: Save your changes

Click **Save** in the top-right corner to apply your updates.
