What are selling plans?
Selling Plans are the subscription types you offer to customers for purchase. They define the recurring purchase options displayed on your product pages, quiz flows, and checkout—giving customers flexible ways to subscribe to the products they love.
Skio offers three types of Selling Plans:
Subscribe and Save: Offer a percentage or fixed discount on products purchased at recurring intervals
Prepaid: Let subscribers pay for multiple shipments upfront, with discounts to incentivize prepayment
Build-a-Box: Allow customers to build a customized box of their favorite products
Use Selling Plans to attract subscribers with discounts, lock in upfront revenue, and create longer-lasting customer relationships that improve Customer Lifetime Value (LTV).
Why use selling plans?
Attract more subscribers: Subscription discounts incentivize customers to commit to recurring purchases
Reduce purchase friction: Subscriptions eliminate the need for customers to repeatedly buy products they use regularly
Lock in revenue: Prepaid subscriptions secure confirmed revenue upfront
Increase lifetime value: Subscriptions create longer customer relationships and opportunities for upselling directly in the Customer Portal
Offer flexibility: Give customers control over their subscription frequency and product selection

Create a Build-a-Box Selling Plan
The setup process for Build-a-Box Selling Plans depends on the type of box you're creating:
Dynamic Build-a-Box: Customers choose products from a curated selection each billing cycle. Learn how to set up Dynamic Build-a-Box selling plan.
Static Build-a-Box: The setup process is the same as creating a Subscribe & Save Selling Plan. During product selection, choose the Static Box you created and add it to the Selling Plan.
Choose the Build-a-Box type that matches your setup, then follow the step-by-step guide to create your Selling Plan.
How customers purchase subscriptions
Once you create Selling Plans, they automatically appear in the Skio Plan Picker on your product pages. Customers can select their preferred subscription option at checkout.

You can install the plan picker yourself using Skio's self-serve tool, or work with the Skio Migrations team.
FAQ
What happens to existing subscribers when I modify Selling Plans?
All existing subscriptions continue operating under the original pricing and intervals that were in place when they started. Existing subscriptions are not automatically updated when you modify a Selling Plan.
If you need to update existing subscriptions, use Skio's bulk operations tool for pricing changes, or contact support@skio.com for assistance from the Technical Support team.
Can I have multiple Selling Plans for the same product?
Yes. You can add a product to multiple Selling Plans—either a combination of prepaid and subscribe & save, or a combination of different intervals. This gives customers more subscription options for the same product.
Can I offer different discounts for different intervals?
Yes. When setting up a Selling Plan, you can configure unique discounts for each interval you add. For example, you might offer 10% off monthly subscriptions and 15% off quarterly subscriptions.
How do I remove a product from a Selling Plan?
Navigate to the Selling Plan in your Skio Dashboard, locate the product you want to remove, and click the remove or delete option. This does not affect existing subscriptions using that Selling Plan.
Can customers change their subscription interval after purchasing?
Yes. Customers can update their subscription frequency through the customer portal, as long as the new interval is available in an active Selling Plan for that product.
