# General settings guide

## What are the general settings for in Skio?

The General settings section lets you configure platform-wide behavior that affects customer login, subscription limits, discount behavior, and administrative controls. These settings apply across all subscriptions and selling plans.

## How do I configure general settings?

> You'll need admin access to your Skio Dashboard to configure these settings. Some features, like Multipass, require Shopify Plus. [Learn more about Multipass here.](/help/docs/multipass)

### Step 1: Navigate to General settings

In the left-hand menu of your **Skio Dashboard**, go to **Settings** > **General**.

### Step 2: Configure your preferred settings

#### Password login

Allows customers to log in to Skio using their Shopify password. Toggle **Enable password login** to allow customers to authenticate via Shopify.

#### Multipass (Shopify Plus only)

Automatically logs customers into Skio using Shopify Multipass for a seamless single sign-on experience.

- Enter your **Multipass secret** to enable this feature.
- Optionally, specify a **Login Redirect URL** (e.g., `/account`) to send users to a specific page after login. If not provided, customers will be brought to the subscriptions page.
- Available for Shopify Plus merchants only.
- Click **How to find your multipass secret** to get setup instructions or [learn more about Multipass here](/help/docs/multipass).

#### Max daily orders per subscription

Limits how many times a customer can place an order from a single subscription per day. This prevents abuse of the "Get Now" feature.

- Set the maximum number using the **Max orders (per subscription per day)** field.
- Default is 1. You can set this to -1 to disable the limit entirely.

#### Remove discount codes on cancel

Automatically removes discount codes when a customer cancels their subscription.

Toggle **Remove on cancel** to enable this setting.

- **Applies to all cancellation methods**: Discount codes are removed whether the subscription is canceled through the **Customer Portal** or the **Skio Dashboard**.
- **Code-based discounts only**: This setting only removes discount codes, not [subscription-level discounts](/help/docs/how-discount-stacking-works-in-skio). If a subscription is reactivated, any non-code discounts will still apply.
- **Not compatible with prepaid subscriptions**: If a customer cancels a [prepaid subscription](/help/docs/getting-started-with-prepaid-subscriptions) and reactivates it before their next billing cycle, they'll retain the discount code.

- Toggle **Remove on cancel** to enable.

> This is useful for one-time promotional codes that shouldn't persist after cancellation. If a subscriber cancels and later reactivates, they won't retain the original discount code.

#### Apply surprise & delight rules before next billing date

Triggers surprise & delight logic ahead of the next billing cycle to ensure better timing and impact for retention campaigns.

- Toggle **Enable** to activate.
- Once enabled, Skio will apply your configured rules (e.g., early gift, discount) before the next order is billed.

#### Show product variant IDs in the dashboard

Displays Shopify variant IDs when editing subscriptions or automations.

- Toggle **Show IDs** to view internal variant IDs in the admin dashboard.

> Helpful when managing bulk edits, selling plans, or advanced automations.

### Step 3: Save your changes

Once you've adjusted your settings, click **Save changes** to apply updates.

### FAQ

#### What happens if I don't set a max daily order limit?

The default is 1 order per subscription per day. If you don't configure this setting, customers will be limited to one "Get Now" order per day per subscription.

#### Can I use both password login and Multipass at the same time?

Yes, but it's not recommended. Multipass provides a better customer experience by enabling single sign-on. If Multipass is enabled, customers won't need to use password login.

Your Skio Dashboard is the backend view of Skio where you manage your subscription program. This is the page you see when you log in to the Skio app, and it's where you'll configure products, view customer data, adjust settings, and access analytics to monitor your subscription performance.
