What is Customer Portal v3?

Customer Portal v3 (CPv3) is the newest version of the Customer Portal, giving your subscribers a cleaner, more intuitive way to manage their subscriptions. The redesigned interface makes it easier for customers to view multiple subscriptions at once, take key actions, and find what they need without unnecessary scrolling.

This version puts control in your hands with extensive customization options while giving your customers a streamlined experience that reduces friction and support tickets.

What's new in Customer Portal v3?

Customer Portal v3 introduces three major improvements to how your subscribers interact with their accounts:

  • Card-based subscription view: Customers can see all their subscriptions in a scannable card layout instead of scrolling through a vertical list. Subscriptions display in a 2x2 grid.

  • Simplified action buttons: Key subscription actions now appear as prominent buttons at the top of each subscription detail view. Customers can get their order now, skip, or access additional options from a "More" menu without hunting through the interface.

  • Full merchant customization: You control everything from colors and branding to which actions customers can take and the layout of how buttons are organized. Build a portal that matches your brand and supports your retention strategy.

How customers navigate the portal

When customers log into their portal, they land on the subscription overview page showing all their subscriptions in card format.

Subscription overview cards

Customers land on the Subscription overview page when they log into the portal.

Each subscription card displays the essential information customers need at a glance:

  • Product name and image

  • Subscription frequency

  • Next order date

  • Order total

  • Quick action buttons

Subscription detail view

When customers click into a subscription card or select View details, they see the full subscription management interface with everything organized into clear sections:

  • Action buttons appear at the top right of the subscription page. By default, customers see Get now, Skip, and a More menu that includes additional actions. You can control which actions appear and in what order.

  • This section lists all items in the customer’s subscription. Customers can adjust quantities using the plus and minus buttons, swap products for alternatives, or add new products to their order. Product recommendations may also appear here based on your upsell settings.

  • This shows the customer's delivery address. Customers can click Edit to update their shipping details.

  • This displays the payment method on file. Customers can update their billing details as needed.

  • This section breaks down the order total, including the subtotal, discounts, shipping, and taxes.

  • Order history is available under a separate tab in the top navigation, beside the Logout button. It shows previous orders and their details.

Customizing your Customer Portal

The Portal settings page is now a real-time, drag-and-drop builder making it easier to visualize exactly how your changes will look to customers. As you update colors, splash images, banners, or button text, you’ll see your changes instantly reflected in the preview.

Use the preview panel on the right to see your changes in real time. Toggle between different views to see how your branding appears across the portal:

  • Shows how the main subscription detail page looks with your branding applied.

  • Displays the subscription overview page with your selected colors and styles.

  • Shows the order history page styled with your branding.

  • Displays the login screen using your uploaded splash images.

  • Switch between desktop and mobile previews to see how your settings appear on different devices.

When you're finished customizing your branding, click Publish in the top right corner. Your changes will go live immediately, and customers will see the updated branding the next time they access the portal.

For unpublished customer portals, you’ll see a Save button in the top right. Click it to save your draft. Once the portal is published, any changes must be saved by clicking Publish instead.
